Memphis Blues Soccer Tournament

This weekend we travelled to Memphis, TN for the Memphis Blues Soccer Tournament with Cade. My parents kept Jace so we did not have to chase him all over the complex.

On Friday, Cade has his field trip to Montgomery and did not get home until 6 pm. We picked him up from school and headed straight to Memphis. It was almost 10 pm by time we got there. We were all exhausted so we unpacked and went to sleep.

Saturday morning Cade's first game was at 8 am. We had to be at the fields 45 minutes early so we had a pretty early morning. Unfortunately Cade's team lost their first game against a team from St. Louis. After that game we headed back to the hotel because we had a good break between games. His next game was at 1:10 pm. The boys worked so hard that game and won that game 8-0. We were done for the day with games so we headed back to the hotel to hang out for a little bit then all shower and get ready for dinner. We headed to a Japanese/Sushi restaurant called Urban Fusion. It was a neat little restaurant in a shopping center in Germantown, only about 5 minutes from our hotel. We ordered an outrageous amount of sushi for just the two of us. Cade got his typical steak and rice. The sushi was absolutely fantastic and if we go back to Germantown for any more soccer we will definitely be eating there again. After dinner we took Cade to the indoor pool at the hotel to swim and hang out with some of his other teammates.

Sunday we got to sleep in. Cade's game wasn't until 11:10 am. The game started out pretty calm but turned into a very intense game. Cade's team was down 2-0. They ended up coming back and winning the game 3-2!!! The team came in 2nd place in their bracket and I am so so proud of them. Cade had a great weekend playing and worked hard and had a blast. Overall it was a great weekend away and we enjoyed some one on one time with Cade. It was also nice to have Jonathan out of the office and work NOT on his mind. We sure did miss Jace and he was quite mad at us when we picked him up that we had left him for the weekend. He holds grudges against us when we leave him overnight-which has not happened much. My mother in law says Jonathan was the same way as a child so he gets it honestly.
